Oh, yum! I made this today when I was really craving junk food today and it it a great snack juice. I meant to add in some carrots, so maybe next time.
This yielded about 30 oz of juice and made for a perfect snack for my husband and I to split.
1 slice of beet (play around with the amount you like, start off small and add more)
1 thumb size knob of ginger
1 green pear
1 Granny Smith apple
1 pink lady apple
Have you found that when you use beets it makes a juice have a grainy texture?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Mine isn't grainy when I juice a beet, but the again I strain all of my juices even after they go through the juicer. You would be surprised at the amount of pulp still in the juice. I find I like all of my juices better strained twice ,once through the juicer and a second straining with a colander after you've juiced your meal.
ReplyDeleteQuestion. Do you just throw the ginger in and it juices? I didn't know ginger had juice in it!
ReplyDeleteI usually take a spoon and rub off the outside layer of ginger.
DeleteMy husband just takes a knob and throws it in whole.
I would recommend starting out with a small amount of ginger to see if you like the taste, then adding more. It can be a bit overpowering at first. :)
do you add water or ice cubes or just ingredients?
ReplyDeleteOh! Ice! I use lots of ice and I always drink my juice with a straw. I've personally never added water to my juice but I know others who do.
DeleteGreat question!
How effective have you found this to be? I am a mother of two and at one of my highest weights. I am working on keeping motivation and determination to change my view of my self. I am not happy with the way I look and I am in need of a healthier lifestyle! I know there are many many different juice recipes but what's the most effective weight loss regime?
