  2. I wrote out a long reply yesterday but I guess it didn't post it for me.

I found a photo of myself in June of 2012 at my heaviest and I was teetering around 235. Just the difference in the weight I've lost so far is amazing. Yesterday was rough but we can do this!!! Please don't give up. I know your headache was brutal but just know that if you are able to stick this our for just a few more days, the hardest part will be behind you. Also, can you please give me the link to your blog again? I want to sign up to follow it so I will be notified each time you post a blog. It's time for me to step it up and become your cheerleader. :) day one is behind you. Lets look forward to day 2.

  3. Day two went a lot better for me! I had green tea in the morning and I know that you are not supposed to have caffeine BUT if that is the difference between me making it 40 days or not - then green tea it is! I figure it's better than all the coffee I used to drink - right?

P.S I ended up taking 6 Advil yesterday and seriously have NEVER had a headache like that one - it was epic!
    Also I lost 5 pounds - what?!

  4. I totally agree with you! If green tea is what it takes, green tea is MUCH healthier than fast food so drink it! I am so excited about your 5 lb weight loss! That's amazing!!! Great job!

  5. If your weight loss plateaus during the fast, look into what vegetables you are juicing. Carrots, sweet potatoes, beets, and fruit juices will still spike your blood sugar. The greener the juice, the better. I add lemons and/ or limes to take away the bite of some of the stronger vegetables like kale and chard. Good luck! I'll be starting a 7 day to clear up a skin rash from an allergy.

    1. Thank you SO much for your reply. My weight has plateaued and I was just attributing it to me starting my period. I really switched it up today. I did a bunch of spinach, broccoli, celery, and cucumbers and really limited my fruits. I didn't realize that about beets, sweet potatoes and carrots AND I've been adding a TON of carrot lately. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  12. Hi! And thank you so much for reading my blog!!

Yes! You can drink as much juice as you want to keep you feeling full! Drinking a lot of juice should not hinder your weight loss....it's uaually when you are drinking too little that that happens.

    I hope this helped!!

    Xoxo

    Best wishes!!

  13. Hey Teela,

First Congrats! I have been juicing for less than 24 hours and wanted to know what you thought about veggie to fruit ratios? I am 5'8 and weigh about 200lbs 26 y/o guy. I have heard that if you dont have 60/40 veggie/fruit ratio it wont work?

    Thanks!

  14. Hey Robert! Congrats on your first juice fast!!!

You can start off juicing with more fruit than veggies to begin with. When you are just starting out, your taste buds have to get accustomed to the new veggie flavors. And out taste buds die every 7-10 days....SOOO when people say that you will start to crave the veggie juices and you won't be able to drink as sweet of juices, it's true! As your old taste buds die, the new ones will crave the healthy veggies and fruit, so you WILL find it easier to drink more veggie strong juices as time goes on.

You do not want to go for an extended period of time drinking mostly fruit juice. Fruit tends to be high in sugar, natural sugar, yes, but you still shouldn't drink nothing but fruit as it CAN mess up your blood sugar levels.

So try to get to an 80/20 ratio as soon as you can, but don't beat yourself up and force yourself to drink juices that are going to make you sick, thus severely limiting your chances of success. :)

I hope that helped some. Please feel free to add me on Facebook if you spend much time there. FB-Teela Juicing Herman.

    Best of luck to you!!

  17. The centrifugal juicer machine is good for juicing soft fruits and vegetables, but not so good for leafy greens such as spinach and kale. cold press juicer online in India
